Claudia T. Salomon is a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins where her practice focuses on complex international disputes. She is a leading practitioner in significant investor treaty arbitration and international commercial arbitration cases under the AAA/ICDR, ICC, ICSID, LCIA, Stockholm, UNCITRAL and Vienna rules around the world. Ms. Salomon is experienced handling litigation connected to arbitration, including enforcing arbitral awards worldwide and obtaining emergency relief. Ms. Salomon is on the ICC Commission on Arbitration and had previously served on the ICC Taskforce on Reducing Time and Cost in International Commercial Arbitration, and as chair of the US Chapter of the ICC's Young Arbitrator's Forum. Bette Shifman is Of Counsel in DLA Piper's New York office, where she serves primarily as Practice Group Manager for the International Arbitration practice group. Ms. Shifman has experience in international law and dispute resolution, including positions at the International Court of Justice, and at the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA). Ms. Shifman is a former general editor of the Journal of International Arbitration and World Trade and Arbitration Materials, and has served as special consultant to Kluwer Law International's international arbitration database and web portal. Ms. Shifman is also an accredited mediator (CEDR), and holds a master's degree in information science with a focus on the digital information lifecycle. Prior to joining DLA Piper, Ms. Shifman was Executive Director of ADR Chambers in Toronto, also heading the ADR Chambers Banking Ombuds Office. Her previous legal experience includes positions in New York, Amsterdam, Brussels and Kinshasa.
